NYP Transfer Center: Enhancing Access for Patients Near and Far
Our NYP Transfer Center is responsible for the safe transfer of patients from hospitals in the tri-state area, nation and even the globe, as well as NYP intra-campus transfers. The NYP Transfer Center utilizes streamlined transfer processes to facilitate fast access to our specialized providers and services. Patients are triaged to the appropriate NYP Campus, Hospital Service, and Level of Care based on an initial intake and ongoing discussion among members of the care teams. Our specialists partner with other NYP departments such as EMS, Patient Placement Operations Center and FCC to facilitate safe, efficient transfers. Our team is committed to providing a quality streamlined process to assure access for patients to the highly specialized care available at NYP.
- Responsible for team development and management of NYP Transfer Center Patient Flow Supervisors.
- Ensures policies and procedures, consistent with NYPH standards are being followed.
- Maintains Departmental policies, revises and retires policies with approval of the Corporate Director.
- Oversees the development of Transfer Center Patient Flow Supervisors.
- Administers personnel policies in the employment, promotion and termination and performance evaluation of staff, in conjunction with the Corporate Director.
- Implement Work Improvement Plans as needed Maintains staff compliance with annual hospital training Supports team engagement.
- Leads Monthly team meetings with Patient Flow Specialists and management team.
- Oversees and arranges team’s educational opportunities, in-services.
- Provides mentorship, and serves as a role models through appropriate methods of communication.
- Creates a supportive, collegial environment to maintain a positive working environment with staff and support areas.
- Maintains daily staffing, balances vacation requests.
- Collaborates with Department Corporate Director, NYP administration, clinical service lines, nursing and NYP EMS to assure safe patient transfers to NYP.
Required Criteria
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
- Masters in Sciences in Nursing or related field if already holds a BSN
- Current NYS RN License
- Minimum of five years of progressive acute care hospital operations and leadership experience in both administrative and clinical setting
- Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills
- Demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Participation in hospital wide initiatives and/or protocols

- Critical care experience

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Salary Range:
