Health Educator – Family Planning Practice - Grant Funded - Day Shift
In this grant-funded role under the direction of the Program Manager, the Health Educator will deliver health education and promotion to patients through individual counseling, outreach and inreach activities, and take a lead role in campaigns to improve patient experience and engage priority populations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing patient-centered counseling to patients on a range of sexual and reproductive health topics (ex: contraceptive counseling, pregnancy options counseling, STI/HIV prevention, healthy relationships, partner communication)
- Collaborating with health education, medical, social work, and front desk colleagues to ensure effective workflow, patient experience, and outcomes
- Collaborating with health education team and other colleagues to design, organize, and facilitate outreach and in-reach health education and promotion activities such as workshops, tabling activities, and tours for youth and adults
- Collaborating with health education team and other colleagues to conduct “inreach” activities with existing patients including waiting room education, patient education material review, and focus groups
- Building and nurturing relationships with NYP and community partners
Preferred Criteria
- Fluent in Spanish
- Experience in health education
- Experience working with adolescents
- Background in reproductive and sexual health
- Technologically savvy and able to learn and effectively utilize new programs
Required Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in health education or health-related field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, public speaking)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Fluent in Spanish

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range:
