Guest Services Assistant 14 South Amenities Evenings

Ensures optimal patient and family experience. Performs general clerical duties and coordinates the activities at the Concierge Desk & Nurse’s Station to assure the timely, accurate, and proactive flow of patient information, reports and communications. Coordinates the activities related to maintaining supplies, amenities and equipment to ensure seamless support to unit operations. Transport patients to areas throughout the hospital. Ensure coverage for all support tasks and duties to ensure work flow. Performs continuous rounding on all spaces to ensure clean and quite environment and resolve any environmental or facilities issues 

Greenberg 14 South is a Med/Surg amenities unit with a unique operational model that includes Guest Services. The Guest Services Assistants (GSA) are specifically trained and to provide a variety of cross-functional tasks and support the self-sustaining operations on 14 South. Ensures optimal patient and family experience. Performs general clerical duties and coordinates the activities at the Concierge Desk & Nurse’s Station to assure the timely, accurate, and proactive flow of patient information, reports and communications. Coordinates the activities related to maintaining supplies, amenities and equipment to ensure seamless support to unit operations. Transport patients to areas throughout the hospital. Ensure coverage for all support tasks and duties to ensure work flow. Performs continuous rounding on all spaces to ensure clean and quite environment and resolve any environmental or facilities issues. 

The cross-functional responsibilities that the GSA role provided on 14 South include: Unit Clerk administrative support duties; transport of patients; non-patient transport (of specimens, bloodwork & supplies); clean, supply management & stocking; equipment management; equipment sanitation between admissions; comfort rounding on patients; set-up of vacant rooms with amenities; and addressing any environmental or service concerns. GSAs are highly involved in patient flow and bed assignment on the unit. Perform other job-related duties as required.

Position is full time evenings ( 5 shifts per week) 3:30PM-11:30PM with alternating weekend rotation and holiday rotation

Preferred Criteria:

  • Associates Degree

  • BCLS

  • Bilingual

Required Criteria:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Two years related customer service experience with focus in healthcare or hospitality

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate persuasively with individuals throughout the organization and to appropriately manage information of a sensitive and confidential nature

  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word & Google Docs.   

  • Superior customer service skills

  • Strong multitasking and problem solving skills

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
