EEG Technician I - Nights - Cornell Campus
Under the supervision of the Neurophysiology management team, performs connections using collodion (adhesive) for all the Continuous Electroencephalogram (CEEG) and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit phase I studies (EMU), as well as conducts long-term monitoring of EEG signals with scalp (CEEG) and EMU phase II studies with depth and cortical electrodes on inpatient floors. May also perform Ambulatory Electroencephalogram (AEEG), routine inpatient and outpatient Electroencephalograph (REEG), and Polysomnogram (Sleep) as well as related Clinical Neurophysiology recordings in assigned Clinical areas as directed.
Essentials Job Duties:
Must possess fundamental knowledge of EEG patterns, abnormalities, seizure patterns, cEEG artifacts, and troubleshooting skills. You will perform all these studies, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures. This role works in the inpatient setting. May also work in outpatient setting as directed. This is a technical position with no supervisory responsibilities.
This is night shift Tuesdays - Saturdays 11p-7a with rotating holidays
Required Criteria
- Work experience: If Associates is held, Two (2) years of Electroneurodiagnostics technician experience
- If Associates is not held Graduation from an accredited Electroneurodiagnostics technology training program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Accredited) and six months post internship experience. OR graduation from an American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) approved Electroneurodiagnostics (END) training program and six months post internship experience.
- If neither the Associates is held nor a graduate of an END program Five (5) years of Electroneurodiagnostics technician experience
- Must possess knowledge of fundamental and/or a working knowledge of diagnostic EEG studies.
- BLS Certification
- American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostics (ABRET) registry eligible
