Director Talent Acquisition
Position Summary
The Director of Talent Acquisition will lead, manage, and mentor a team of recruiting and sourcing strategists to support the recruitment needs of hospital locations and/or functional areas at NewYork-Presbyterian. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of managing a team, including but not limited to setting strategy, performance management, hiring, coaching, development, and workload balancing. Additionally, he/she will work in conjunction with senior leadership on senior level searches. The primary focus of this position is to manage Nursing and Nurse Leadership positions to support Chief Nursing Officers across NYP.
Essential Job Duties
- Develop and maintain business strategies to address applicant flow, assessment, and hiring needs.
- Develop and maintain recruiting and sourcing strategies, policies, metrics and procedures that map to NYP values and priorities.
- Partner with HR team members and Business Leaders in all areas pertaining to the attraction and retention of highly skilled employees across the enterprise (e.g. workforce planning, recruiting process, assessment, diversity, relocation, internal transfers, and employee referrals). Will coordinate appropriate handoff for new hire orientation and assimilation.
- Serve as subject matter expert in talent acquisition and retention strategies. Educate internal partners on best practices in sourcing, legal requirements, interviewing skills, developmental programs, and other related topics.
- Provide governance as appropriate for processes and standard operating procedures.
- Technical/Industry Expertise – Demonstrated background in staffing roles at all levels of Healthcare and Life Sciences. Significant knowledge of staffing systems, sourcing strategies, and end-to-end recruiting processes, regulations, etc.

- Project and Process Management Skills – Ability to develop, improve, and manage staffing processes. Can effectively project manage function’s staffing deliverables.
- Communicates with Impact – Clearly and consistently gets information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates the ability to influence people and get them to take appropriate action.
- Approach to Talent – Is a good judge of talent. Hires the best people available from inside or outside. Is not afraid of selecting strong people. Can accurately assess strengths and weaknesses. Provides accurate and timely feedback. Actively engages in coaching and developing others. Provides opportunities for people to develop.
- Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Work Experience
- Experience managing a team.(R)
- Strong interest in healthcare and life sciences.(R)
- Progressive experience and distinguished track record in Talent Acquisition within matrixed, high caliber environments.(R)
- Experience with applicant tracking systems required.(R)
- The ability to influence, negotiate, gain commitment, and engage with staff at a levels. (R)
- Ability to main strict confidentiality.(R)
- Strong follow up, organizational, and project management skills.(R)

Salary Range:
