Director of Emergency Management

As a member of the Leadership team, the Director of Emergency Management will report to the Vice President of Security. In this role will be responsible for the planning, direction, organization, and operationalization of all aspects of the Safety, Security and Emergency/Crisis Management functions to ensure all related initiatives are aligned with recognized best practices. Oversees the development, administration, training, and implementation of the Hospital, environmental safety, security, and crisis/emergency management plans, policies, services, and programs. Collaborates with federal, state, and local municipal response agencies and clinical leadership to plan, organize, and direct activities regarding safety, security, and crisis (emergency) planning preparedness initiatives. Plans for crisis, disasters, accidents, and other emergency scenarios. Collaborates with organization's leadership teams to assess potential risks and develop best practices for addressing them. Designs procedures that inform affected parties of what actions are necessary in an emergency or crisis and creates preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of emergency situations occurring.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Master’s degree

Required Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years leadership and supervisory experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in administration.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in training development and implementation. Demonstrated understanding of relevant industry expertise to support strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working national disasters and/or critical incidents and utilizing their
    knowledge and skills during these types of events
  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal /client relations skills.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Salary Range:

$129,000-$193,000/Annual
