Development Associate Position
Summary
NewYork-Presbyterian seeks a Development Associate based at our corporate office in Midtown. This position will work closely with our team of Development professionals to help secure funding for the NewYork-Presbyterian Children’s Hospital of New York, capital projects, state-of-the-art technology, and many other initiatives that will change lives for the better. Promote ongoing engagement with donors and prospective donors via cultivation events and stewardship materials. To be successful, this individual will need to work collaboratively with other staff in the Office of Development and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Helps to maintain effective relationships with current and prospective donors to meet the fundraising goals of the Hospital.
- Help manage two volunteer groups dedicated to fundraising for pediatrics. Provide support with meetings, engagement events and volunteer management.
- Drafts progress reports, briefings for meetings, presentations, and acknowledgement letters and helps to ensure proper and timely updates about projects/programs funded by donors.
- Helps develop and implement comprehensive strategies for stewardship and cultivation of campaign donors during gift cycle.
- Communicates with the offices of donors, administrators, and volunteers to provide information and follow-up.
- Serves as support staff for events including fundraising gatherings and meetings of the Board of Trustees.
- Utilizes fundraising software database to input data and extract information.
- Organizes and monitors the donor portfolios of two to three gift officers, and helps coordinate projects, keeping track of deadlines and next steps.
- Maintains knowledge of all capital campaign priorities at NYP.
- Provide assistance with two pediatric galas and additional fundraising events.

Preferred Criteria
- Experience in a hospital or medical setting
- Experience working with volunteer committees
- Fundraising, public relations, and/or event planning experience
Required Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as fundraising database
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail
- Appreciation for and understanding of NewYork-Presbyterian’s mission
- Demonstrated ability to navigate within a fast-paced, highly complex organization emphasizing teamwork, respect, and excellence
- A “can-do” personality and a passion to do whatever needs to be done to accomplish established goals

Salary Range:
