Coordinator Physician Onboarding

The Physician Onboarding Coordinator delivers a concierge-like and seamless provider new-hire experience by providing a high level of customer service and maintaining quality throughout the pre-employment on-boarding process from the time the provider contract is signed, until after the provider begins employment.  Additionally, this position supports off-boarding when providers are scheduled to terminate from the organization.
Essential responsibilities will include:
  • Managing provider pre-hire and onboarding checklists including triggering/tracking associated tasks to ensure onboarding is timely for planned hire date
  • Provide updates to leadership and practice managers on providers’ onboarding status
  • Prepare new provider information packets
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the provider and answering, in a timely manner, any questions about the process
  • Act as a liaison between the Central Medical Staff Credentialing Office (MSO), payer enrollment, and the provider
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalates problems to appropriate member of the team while demonstrating standards of excellence in customer service in all interactions, for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate with appropriate channels (including practice operations, business development, IT, Credentialing and Payer Enrollment departments), to ensure new hires have the information and tools they need to successfully begin their role with the organization
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Physician Services, HR, Physician Recruitment teams, University Departments and Faculty Practice Organization, Central MSO (MSO), Payer Enrollment and Contracting, and other stakeholders including physician leaders to facilitate smooth credentialing and enrollment process for new providers
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with the group and community of all strategic and other information regarding physicians and practices
  • Coordinate with the Campus CCO and physician leadership when a provider leaves the organization including various tasks such as notifying and/or deactivating a physician status in appropriate databases and distribution groups
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned
This is a full time-Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM or 9:00AM-5:00PM position. Hybrid Remote, will travel to our regional locations-Westchester, Queens, Brooklyn and corporate office 466 Lexington Avenue NY as needed.
Preferred Criteria:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office & Smartsheet. Strong Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking, teamwork, and collaboration, Project Management abilities
Required Criteria:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of healthcare experience, preferably within a physician practice setting.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively, meet deadlines, and provide timely follow-up and execution within all levels of the organization.
  • Detail oriented with ability to navigate complex processes and manage checklists
  • Self-starter with ability to handle multiple, high priority tasks in an organized fashion within a fast-paced work environment

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range:

$72,500-$80,000/Annual
