The Clinical Specialist demonstrates advanced clinical skills and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of patients. In addition to the duties and responsibilities of an occupational therapist, the Clinical Specialist serves as a clinical resource to staff, provides input to clinical programming, and participates in departmental, hospital education programs, and service excellence initiatives.  

This position will work from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, including some weekend and holiday coverage. 

Preferred Criteria

  • 3 years’ experience in an acute neurology/neurosurgery unit, including the ICU

  • NDT or Neuro-IFRAH certified

  • Vestibular certified

  • Experience supervising Level I and Level II Occupational Therapy Students

  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certification and AOTA Membership

Required Criteria

  • 2 years of experience as a practicing Occupational Therapist

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

  • New York State Occupational Therapist License

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range:

$128,700-$149,000/Annual
