Business Intelligence Information Technology Epic
Clinical Shared Services is seeking a programmer analyst with a problem-solving mindset to join our team to support the EHR system here at NYP. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and maintaining programming customizations and system configurations to the clinical enterprise EMR system. The role will be a part of a group of thoughtful and diverse professionals who work closely with our larger clinical and operational team stakeholders and support their efforts.
Essential Job Duties
Design, develop, code, test, support, debug, and document programming clinical applications to implement and sustain Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Develop and program forms, reports, surveys, queries, macros, scripts, print groups, and other
highly technical aspects of system implementation, maintenance, and integration.
Working with various stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements.
Analyzes and understands various data models in depth; proactively define data structures that would improve performance or add value; Maintains accurate documentation.
Provides design support for the development of business intelligence solutions and their continuous maintenance; provides problem solving assistance to end users.
Works with clinical and operational leadership to understand business and user needs, documenting project work plans and requirements including critical tasks, milestones, timelines, interdependencies and contingencies, and revises existing system logic as necessary.
Works to improve best programming practices where possible; Adheres to corporate standards for performance metrics, data collection, data integrity, query design, and reporting format to ensure high quality, meaningful analytic output.
Assist in the management of technical support issues and problem escalation, resolution, and risk minimization.
Maintains knowledge of industry standards and best practices, including HIPAA, to ensure all deliverables meet those standards.
This position works closely with clinical and business users and assists a multi-disciplinary team in the design, implementation, optimization, change management, and issue resolution related to the enterprise system.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience with programming languages.
At least 2 years’ experience participating in software installation projects of medium/large size and complexity including familiarity with all phases of software development lifecycle.
Experience with relational database and application development tools such as
Intersystems Caché.
Knowledge of general business technologies (windows, MS office), hardware, various web technologies, and other programming languages.
Ability to identify and compare alternative solutions and approaches to problems.
Knowledge of core technologies specific to clinical systems is also extremely helpful.
Experience with data exploration and data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Looker, PowerBI)
Excellent analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communications skills
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business or equivalent
1 or more years of related work experience
Proficient in SQL and database modeling
