As one of our Account Representatives, you will work with patients and third-party payors to ensure proper coverage for the care and caring we deliver.
Account Representative - Patient Accounts - HYBRID
Transform your career in this pivotal position, which covers all Medicare billing for our hospital. Verify patients’ insurance coverage, and help self-pay patients obtain available coverage. Submit third-party bills. Investigate patient inquiries involving financial matters, and make claims corrections as needed. Secure and process payments from insurance companies and self-pay patients. Receive cross-training on how to handle missing payments. Reconcile remittances and checks posted, and ensure the disbursement of proper refunds when necessary. The position of Account Representative may encompass different functions, all of which are similar in nature and the incumbent may perform one or more of those functions. The various functions include insurance verification, inpatient billing, outpatient billing, self-pay collections, insurance follow-up, remittance processing.
Preferred Criteria
Associate’s degree
Minimum of two years related experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Required Criteria
High school diploma or GED
One year of related experience
Strong data entry skills
Strong communication and customer service skills are essential to success.
