Investigates criminal and regulated activities to assure compliance with NYP policies, federal, state, and municipal laws. Conducts thorough investigations from reporting though case closure. Collects evidence, observes conditions, reviews records, conducts interviews and coordinates with other NYP investigative teams. Locates and interviews relevant personnel to gather facts relating to alleged violations. Observes conditions to verify facts indicating violation of policies and/or laws. Examines records and documents to establish facts and authenticity of data. Prepares correspondence and reports of investigations for use by administrative or legal authorities. Testifies in court or at administrative proceedings concerning findings of the investigation as necessary. Prepares written reports, advises crime victims, devises courses of action, and arranges resources to enhance security. Assists in the training of hospital personnel on security and safety matters, and updates supervisors and peers on recent developments.

This is a full-time day shift position including flexibility to cover other shifts as needed,located at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree, military experience, or 2 years of collegiate courses in Criminal Justice or related field.
  • Experience working investigations collaboratively with private sector and government organizations.
  • Knowledge of Accurint, Lexis Nexis, TLOxp, E-Justice.

Required Criteria:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • NYS Security Guard License
  • Driver’s license
  • 5+ years of experience of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of satisfactory experience in an industrial or governmental agency in the field of investigation, auditing, law enforcement or corporate investigator.
  • 3+ years of experience in an investigative or law enforcement role performing administrative, criminal, or internal investigations.
  • Experience with, or ability to learn and effectively use computer systems including CCTV and D3 Case Management platform.
  • Knowledgeable in Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of security systems, investigations, and interviewing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, interviewing skills and excellent judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document information clearly and completely in systems.
  • Ability to report in a clear and effective manner.
  • Excellent coordination and collaboration in a team setting.
  • Superior customer service competencies and the ability to ensure appropriate confidentiality of
  • information and investigations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
