Physician Assistant - Internal Medicine Hospitalist | Per Diem (Brooklyn Campus)

The Department of Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist houses the largest medical department as well as its own medical residency program. PAs will work alongside Cornell faculty caring for geriatrics, digestive diseases, rehabilitation, vascular, neurology and oncology patients, many from around the world. Admissions in the Department of Internal Medicine alone exceed 20,000 patients per year, generating a wide spectrum of patients and pathology. This is an exciting opportunity to experience a wide variety of cases, ranging from adult inpatients requiring pre and post-operative care to general acute care and specialty services. Our case mix index is one of the highest, yet our measured outcomes are among the best in the nation.

Hospitalist PA Team | Per Diem- (Internal Medicine)

The per-diem hospitalist PA will be utilized to cover inpatient med-psych unit, inpatient rehab unit, and inpatient medicine services. The per-diem PA will have their own panel of patients on one of the non-teaching services providing general inpatient management care, including admissions/discharges, medication reconciliation, patient counseling, and other daily management and care.

Shift coverage includes both day and night schedules.

Ideal candidates will have the ability to work across a variety of shifts, including day (7:00 AM – 8:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM – 8:00 AM), to support dynamic staffing needs.

Preferred Criteria

-Must have neurology and/or stroke experience

 -At least one year of experience in hospital medicine, will accept strong new grads!

Required Criteria

-Bachelor’s or Masters in Physician Assistant related studies

-NYS PA Licensure

-Current NCCPA Certification

-ACLS/BLS

-NYS Infection Control certification

-DEA Certification with NYS Opioid Prescriber training compliance
