Patient Safety Nurse Specialist - RN - Emergency Department - Days (7AM - 5PM)

As a designated 911 receiving hospital, our facilities include Level II Trauma Centers for both adult and pediatric patients, a Psychiatric Emergency Receiving Center, Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center and more. From high-tech intervention to community outreach, our nurse leaders independently identify challenges and rapidly arrange multidisciplinary care for patients when every second counts. Our nurse leaders also drive strategic initiatives that shape the future of emergency care.

Bring your passion for patient safety and quality outcomes to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and drive nursing excellence in our Emergency Department.  Work collaboratively with the leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure that the team adheres to national clinical standards and practice of patient safety. Lead important initiatives and provide formal education to nurses.  Collect and present data analytics and results to senior leadership. You'll partner with the Nursing Leadership to conduct patient safety rounds, counsel staff RNs, and provide clinical education and follow-up as necessary.

This is a full time position, working 4 days per week, no weekends or holidays.

Preferred Criteria

• Strong communication and collaboration

• Demonstrated clinical leadership

• Master’s Degree in Nursing

Required Criteria

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

• Current New York State RN license

• 3+ years of clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department setting
