Coordinates the activities related to maintaining supplies and equipment of assigned area(s) to ensure effective departmental operations, under general direction. Greets patients, visitors and employees conducting oneself in a courteous manner. Identifies oneself by name upon meeting patient and explains tasks you are about to perform. Responds to inquiries politely and promptly. Refers matters outside scope of own duties to appropriate others as necessary, keeping patients and others informed as needed. Responds to emergency patient care situations, i.e., obtains necessary medical supplies for medical team, etc., in an expeditious manner. Ensures that the emergency cart(s) are adequately supplied at all times. Maintains inventory of equipment; requisitions repairs or replacements, removing malfunctioning equipment as necessary. Coordinates availability, operable conditions and cleanliness of equipment. Removes dirty equipment to Central Sterile or the equipment center, as necessary. Locates missing equipment and returns to appropriate area.

This is a full-time day shift position 8:00am-4:00pm including rotating weekends and holidays, located at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Required Criteria:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One to two years related experience
  • Windows based computer literacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function independently

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
