The Center for Community Health, which opened in January 2021 in the heart of Park Slope at our NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, sets a new bar in personalized outpatient care -- from diagnosis to treatment -- by integrating new technologies and innovative clinical approaches to provide the highest quality care and enhance the patient experience.
This 400,000 –square foot, multi-specialty ambulatory center encompasses a Comprehensive Cancer and Women’s Health Center, 12 ambulatory surgery operating rooms and Multispecialty physician practices. Our new state-of-the-art building encompasses three 600-ton chillers, five individual air-handling units and Schneider control systems.
Biomedical Technician – Center for Community Health – Day Shift
In this role, as Biomedical Technician, you will have direct hands-on exposure to Installations, incoming inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and de-installations of medical equipment. Join a team of focused professionals and expeditiously analyze/diagnose technical problems down to component level on various medical equipment. You will also have an exciting chance to coordinate medical equipment services provided by service vendors.
This is a full-time day shift position 7:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday including flexibility to cover other shifts as needed, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Preferred Criteria:
- Associate’s degree in biomedical engineering or electrical engineering.
Required Criteria:
- High school diploma/GED
- 0 years of experience with an associate’s/bachelor’s degree OR 2+ years of experience with no college degree.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to read equipment electrical, electronic and mechanical diagrams.
- Strong electronics, electrical, and mechanical repair skills.
- Basic knowledge and experience with medical equipment maintenance management systems.
- Basic knowledge of equipment cleaning, disinfection and sterilization.
- Knowledge of biomedical test devices.
- Knowledge of electronics
- Knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
