Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is an integral member of the healthcare delivery team. The LPN is a licensed professional caregiver who assists the medical provider in assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients under the care of their physician.
Education: Licenses/Certification: Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Current RN or LPN Licensure in the State of NY. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Infection Control Certification.
Experience/ Job Qualifications: Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to outpatient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments as directed. Skill in taking vital signs, Skill in maintaining records. Skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly. Time Sharing – the ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information.
