Supervisor – Patient Access

The Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the Patient Access team overseeing Psychiatric Services at NYP/Westchester Behavioral Health Center and NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Responsible for the recruitment, selection and orientation of employees in assigned areas. Provides work direction, assigns and/or schedules work, conducts on-the-job training, answers job related questions. Monitors performance and adherence to attendance policies. Prepares performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions for staff, relative to promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action up to and including termination. Assists in implementing all new processes and procedures. Communicates with staff through the use of huddles, staff meetings, departmental and hospital sessions ensuring staff understanding of they fit into the overall operation of the department and hospital. Respond to staff inquiries on policies, procedures and staff questions and to address related matters. Ensures performance metrics and targets are in place. Acts as interface between Patient Access team and patient care teams. Ensures compliance with federal regulations and administrative policies. Role will primarily be located in Westchester, with occasional travel to NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

This is a full time hybrid (20% remote) position located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester Behavioral Health Center.

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-5 years’ of work experience, preferably in billing and coding
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Criteria

  • Prior Supervisor Experience
  • Prior Experience in Psychiatry
  • Innovative Problem Solving Skills
