RN – Rapid Decision (RDU) / Early Treatment of Admitted Patients (ETAP) Unit -
At NewYork-Presbyterian\Queens, RDU/ETAP nursing is a moment-to-moment, career-transforming experience. Here, RDU/ETAP nurses independently assess conditions and rapidly coordinate multidisciplinary care. RDU/ETAP serves not only as an emergency observation unit, but ensures that our patients admitted from the Emergency Department (ED) receive the same exceptional evaluation and diagnostic services they have come to expect from our hospital, before they even get to their assigned rooms. RDU/ETAP nurses make that continuity of care possible.

Coordinate all aspects of clinical care to ensure the delivery of high-quality, family-centered services to our patients. Assist with unit administration, including the management of staffing needs. Counsel staff RN's on a regular basis, providing clinical education and conducting follow-up procedures as necessary. Foster collaboration and independent thinking.
