The Patient Financial Advisor serves as the patient’s main point of contact and the face of the NewYork-Presbyterian organization as the patient schedules, is approved for, and registers for treatment.  Under the supervision of the Administrator, the Patient Financial Advisor is responsible for scheduling patients for visits, tests, and admissions, registering patients when they arrive, screening for medical necessity, and obtaining necessary pre-certifications and authorizations.  These tasks must be completed with an emphasis on both accuracy, to ensure payment from third parties, and customer service, to foster a positive patient experience.

**Please note: This is a temporary positon, not to exceed 89 days.

The shift for this position isweekdays 10:00 am - 6:00 pm plus two Saturdays per month. Location is our Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights.

Preferred Criteria

  • Associates degree
  • Spanish bilingual
  • Epic software experience

Required Criteria

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Experience using electronic health information systems for registration and scheduling
