Staff Internal Auditor

The Staff Auditor will function as the key staff person responsible forassessing financial controls in areas includingFinance, Clinical Service Lines/Departments, Service Operations, Facilities, Procurementand more.  You will collaborate and assist in executing engagements throughout the New York-Presbyterian Enterprise, including but not limited to the following:

  • Support in meeting with applicable hospital executives, senior management, Department Chairs/Chiefs of service or department heads during the planning phase of each engagement to develop goals and work plan activities.
  • Prepare agendas, process narratives and/or process flowcharts and perform testing procedures, as defined in the audit scope.
  • Document testing work for audits or advisory engagement(s).  You will assists in developing procedures, in conjunction with the Manager, Project Lead and Senior Auditor, for tracking progress and cost/benefits of each engagement and in preparing status reports, final reports and supports in conducting regular sessions with affected hospital leadership stakeholders.

This role will be responsible for working with multiple campuses across the NYP enterprise.  Travel will be required on an as-needed basis.

This is a full-time day hybrid role, located at our Corporate Center in Midtown Manhattan.

Preferred Criteria

  • Master’s Degree. Years of experience in a specialty area can be substituted for degree requirements
  • CPA, CIA, CISA OR CISSP certifications

 Required Criteria

  • Bachelor Degree.
  • 2-3 years of experience in finance, operations, and/or IT experience in a major hospital, healthcare system/network, health plan or highly regulated industry, or four years of other applicable consulting and auditing experience or a combination of the two.
  • Knowledge of the health care environment and/or IT, a comparable degree of skills and experience with analytical techniques, and tools needed to solve problems.
  • Technical skills - Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access).
  • Possess the sensitivity to, and understanding of, the values and goal of all the various people that make up an organization.
  • High level of written and oral communications skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify risks and best practices – both internal and external – and development of a program of continuous improvements.
