Special Events Associate - Office of Development 

You will be responsible for providing administrative support with the planning, scheduling and executing all fund raising and donor cultivation events initiated by the Development Department.  Manages processing, receipting and acknowledgement of all event gifts, maintains a detailed revenue report. Prepares payment reminders. Maintains Event Budget Summary book. Coordinates periodic mailing updates of financial and budget status to committee members; organizes committee meetings; prepares agendas and back up information for meetings; attends meetings with Special Events Lead to record and transcribe minutes, distributes minutes, assists Special Events Lead with follow up.  Work event with Special Events Lead.  Processes event expenses/invoices/contracts, creates financial reports. Investigates and settles credit card discrepancies and makes certain that expenses are charged to the appropriate budgets and sub codes. Works with NYPH Accounting Office to expedite special check requests for emergencies and resolves inquiries regarding late or incorrect payments on invoices. 

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in fundraising, public relations, or events planning
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
