Internal Audit Project Leader - Internal Audit & Compliance – Finance, Operations & Clinical 

As an Internal Audit Project Leader, under the guidance of the Audit Manager, you will function as the key staff planning, implementing, and executing integrated risk-based audits that allow us to identify root causes of issues and inefficiencies.  Areas of focus may cover Clinical Service Lines, Service Operations, Revenue Cycle, Ancillary, and Finance.  Your responsibilities include, but not limited to, conducting concurrent audits, supervising or supporting the staff assigned to perform the audits, reviewing medical records to determine whether documentation substantiates the medical necessity, quality of care, utilization, and coding of insurance claims, ensures optimal billing methods that meet with billing compliance standards (regulations), preparing narratives and process workflow charts, performing testing procedures, and assist in communicating results to hospital executives, senior management, chiefs of service, and department heads.

This position will be based at our corporate offices in midtown Manhattan with occasional travel to hospital locations across New York.

Preferred Criteria

  • CPA or CIA
  • RN License
  • Master's Degree
  • PMP or Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD9-CM, HCPCS coding structures
  • Knowledge of commercial and government insurances  

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of clinical and auditing experience in large healthcare, financial services, and/or public accounting organizations
  • Substantial knowledge of the health care environment, a high degree of skills and experience with analytical techniques, and tools needed to solve problems
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Effective negotiation, influencing skills and ability to build professional relationships with clients
