Financial Management
Assists with the development and control of the Pharmacy budget
Forecasts the Services pharmaceutical expenses. Monitors drug expenses and identifies and implements programs to reduce costs.
Performance Improvement/ Medication Safety
Provides leadership and ensures implementation of quality control and quality improvement processes that improve the quality of pharmaceutical at NYPH.
Oversees the execution of medication use evaluations to confirm appropriate use of medications and determines opportunities for improvement as it pertains to fiscal responsibility for pharmaceutical financial management.
Collects and/or compiles data to support various performance improvement initiatives that improve care or reduce costs.
Regulatory Compliance
Maintains knowledge of all laws, regulations, and standards that govern pharmacy practice. Implements strategies to ensure compliance with these requirements. Leads or participates in initiatives to ensure compliance.
Maintains records in compliance with Hospital, legal, regulatory, or standard setting bodies. Assists with response to requests/mandates from regulatory agencies. Ensures that standards required for investigational drugs are followed.
Planning
Contributes to the development of strategic plans and financial goals for the Department of Pharmacy. Develops business/strategic plans for the expansion or implementation or of new services.
Communication/Committee work/Support of Key Stakeholders
Serves as a Pharmacy representative on Hospital Committees.
Acts as a liaison between the Department of Pharmacy, other Hospital Departments, and Medical Staff and develops the support of key stakeholders to assist with Hospital and Pharmacy initiatives and strategic plans as it pertains to financial management of pharmaceuticals.
Maintains effective communication with medical staff, administrators, and department heads to ensure effective operations.
The position would also be a supervisory one with up to 5 direct reports
Required Criteria
- Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
- New York State Pharmacy License or eligibility to obtain license within 3 months of hire
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience
- 340B experience

Salary Range:
