Technical Specialist - Transfusion Medicine - Per Diem

As the largest and busiest Transfusion Medicine department in New York, we set the standards for our field. Our technologists are conducting the widest array of testing in this fast-paced, high-volume environment. Here, you will gain more experience with analysis not being performed anywhere else, including rare opportunities with antibody identification and immunohematology problems. Combined with the stem cell capabilities of our Cellular Therapy department, we offer unlimited opportunities to advance your expertise.

Take on this pivotal position and work closely with lab leadership to coordinate a wide variety of technical activities to ensure efficient operation. The Technical Specialist will be responsible for a section including administration, planning and development of new techniques, assays and methods, technical guidance, staff training, and development of new and more complicated procedures.

Preferred Criteria

• Current ASCP certification

Required Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science
• Six years' experience in specialized testing
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department
• Cognitive ability to develop and troubleshoot sophisticated analytical procedures
• Excellent technical skills including product development and training skills
