Patient Facilitator - Per Diem - Bilingual Mandarin or Cantonese

Excel as an advocate for patients and their family members throughout their hospitalization. Serve as a liaison between patients, families and hospital staff and help promote their patient/family experience. Regularly visit patients throughout their hospitalization, identifying and addressing their needs and concerns to help improve quality of care and patient satisfaction. Collaborate and build partnerships with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care, compassion and caring for patients and families coming to New York-Presbyterian.   

This is a per diem position, covering shifts as needed. This can include any day of the week, days/evenings and weekends. 

Preferred Criteria

  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Experience as a Chinese/English medical interpreter 

Required Criteria

  • Fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably hospital 
  • Proof of at least 40 hours of professional training in Medical Interpretation from an approved program, or Certificate of completion from an approved continuing education program, or completion of an approved nationally recognized language proficiency assessment, or certification from either the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters, or The Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters
