Nurse Practitioner – NP Stroke Program
The NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center Stroke Nurse Practitioner (NP) will have a primary mission of supporting stroke center operations and providing clinical care. The NP will have a unique multi-faceted position that will allow for both delivering clinical care and professional development and growth. The core aspects of the position will include: clinical care, education, administrative and research. The NP will work collaboratively with all stroke physicians and extenders, stroke manager, quality and patient safety departments, and the stroke center nursing staff (both leadership and floor staff) in order to improve clinical outcomes and processes of care for all patients in the hospital setting. The NP will bring clinical expertise, leadership, consultation, and teaching to patients, physicians and nursing staff . The NP will utilize in-depth knowledge of disease processes and management to drive improvement through various roles and alliances within the stroke center.
5 years neuroscience experience
Acute Care/Geriatric NP
Family Nurse NP
Neuro experience as clinical nurse and NP minimum 2 years of each
Experience in a Nursing Leadership role.
