Healthcare Space Program Planner

As the Space Programmer, you will assess and prepare functional space programs for proposed new and expanded program needs. Works with client users (clinical and administrative departmental leaders) to translate new/expanded program needs into clear and concise functional space programs that can be used by OFD Project Managers to develop project scope, cost and schedule estimates.

  • Provides in-house programming and planning services for capital projects included in the master facilities plan.
  • Conducts interviews with clinical and administrative staff for the purpose of preparing both global and room-by-room functional space programs.
  • Coordinates medical equipment needs of each capital project with the end-users, biomedical engineering and medical/technology work group.
  • Investigates and coordinates possible program locations with site-specific space managers.
  • Performs best-use analyses for the available on/or off-campus and leased space.
  • Develops single-line test-fit concept diagrams for the intended spaces using the detailed functional space programs.
  • Provides and coordinates project specific concept plans, locations, and areas with the project managers who will be responsible for developing the cost and schedule for each project.

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Medical Programming and PLanning
  • Proficency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
