Director of Specialty/Retail Pharmacy

Under the direction of the Vice President, plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates Pharmacy Services for Oncology and Investigational Drug Services (IDS), Pediatric Services or Retail and Clinic Services according to Hospital policies, standard practices of the profession, and federal and state laws. Works collaboratively with site directors and managers who, according to New York State Law, act as supervising pharmacists for pharmacy services at their sites.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Director, Assistant Director or Pharmacy Management role

Required Criteria:

  •  Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Specialty pharmacy required
  • Minimum 3 years retail pharmacy experienced required
  •  New York State licensure as a pharmacist or eligibility for New York State licensure required. Must receive New York State license within 3 months of employment. Pharmacists who are in the process of obtaining their New York State License through reciprocity may only engage in activities related to orientation, training, and project work
  •  Minimum 3 years recent hospital/institutional experience or related experience if in Ambulatory Services
  •  Documented ability to achieve targeted results in a complex, interdisciplinary environment, demonstrated problem-solving and project management abilities, and strong interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of excellent customer service and a focus on service excellence
