Clinical Nurse Manager - Ambulatory Recovery - 6:00am to 2:00pm

Join NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) where nurses are patient advocates in the truest form. Following complex and rarely seen surgeries, we provide pain management, clinical assessment and vital information for multidisciplinary colleagues. Our PACU units support over 60 surgical suites, among them the nation's first to broadly use Artis Zeego 3-D robotic imaging. In this role, you'll provide hands-on clinical leadership as Clinical Manager. Facilitate efficient and cost effective daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Recovery Room in relation to patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers. You’ll support clinical decision-making, lead huddles, monitor quality data, assist in scheduling, and promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures. Work in collaboration with the Patient Care Director, participate in the establishment of the Heart Center's short and long term goals and ensure its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals.

This is a full time position at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The hours are from 6:00am to 2:00pm.

Preferred Criteria

  • At least one year of Procedural RN experience
  • Previous experience in Ambulatory Surgery Recovery, pre-operative or Pre-admission Testing in a hospital setting.

Required Criteria

  • At least two years of Critical Care RN experience in a acute care setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Current New York State RN license
  • BCLS certification
