Support the psychosocial needs of children and families as a Child-Life Specialist at New York’s #1 hospital (U.S. News & World Report, 2015-2016). Join a high-functioning team of professionals specially trained in patient stresses, responses and emotional needs, and bring new meaning to multidisciplinary excellence.

Our accredited Child Life Specialists join forces with nurses, physician, social workers, educators and clinical professionals to normalize the health care environment for neonatal patients and their families. We provide developmentally appropriate medical teaching to help patients better understand the medical experience.

This is a full time day shift, Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at New York-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. Position will work with patients and families in the Operating Room and Surgical Services.

Preferred Criteria

  • 1 year of experience with hospitalized children 
  • Master's Degree in Child Life, Child Development or closely related field

Required Criteria 

  • Child Life Council verified Internship hours (minimum 480 hours)
  • Certified Child Life Specialist by the Child Life Council
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Child Development or closely related field
