Support the psychosocial needs of children and families as a Child-Life Specialist at New York’s #1 hospital (U.S. News & World Report, 2015-2016). Join a high-functioning team of professionals specially trained in patient stresses, responses and emotional needs, and bring new meaning to multidisciplinary excellence.


Our accredited Child Life Specialists join forces with nurses, music and art therapists, social workers and clinical professionals to normalize the health care environment for young patients. We provide age-appropriate activities and diversions at the bedside as well as within our state-of-the-art Child Life Centers.

This a Per Diem position, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, variable weekday and weekends, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. 

Preferred Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Child Life, Child Development or closely related field
  • 1-2 year’s professional experience with hospitalized children

Required Criteria 

  • Experience working in an Emergency Department or experience working within multiple units
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Child Development or closely related field
  • Child Life Council verified internship hours (minimum 480 hours)
  • Certified Child Life Specialist by the Child Life Council within one year of hire
