Building Supervisors Make It Possible:

The NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns will be a leader in providing outstanding, compassionate, personalized care to pregnant women, newborn babies and their families. Scheduled to open in August 2020, the 222,000 square foot facility will occupy the top five-and-a-half floors of the NewYork-Presbyterian David H. Koch Center and will feature: 75 private rooms and well-baby bassinets, 60 private neonatal intensive care isolettes, 16 labor and delivery rooms, five operating rooms, 20 maternal critical assessment and treatment rooms, and 15 ultrasound rooms, which will offer state-of-the-art visualization. It is set to be the first facility in New York City to have MRI capabilities and an operating room in its neonatal intensive care unit.


Building Supervisor – Facilities Maintenance (3:00PM – 11:00PM)

At the NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns, you’ll find a patient-focused, engaging, and supportive environment. In your position as a Building Supervisor you will be responsible for the daily supervision of a multi – trade team of mechanics within a designated engineering area in the Hospital complex.  Supervise on-going work including repairs, cleaning, painting and preventive maintenance. Ensures that these tasks are completed safely, effectively and efficiently.  Develop permanent solutions for this facility to improve customer satisfaction. Train, supervise and evaluate a staff of plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians. Estimate labor and material costs for various projects, such as preventive maintenance initiatives, and take the lead in managing these projects. 

Preferred Criteria 

  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Prior experience working in the hospital setting

Required Criteria

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum seven years’ experience
  • Prior experience in a mechanical trade
  • Strong commitment to providing an outstanding patient experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Knowledgeable in use of CMMS systems
  • Strong commitment to providing an outstanding patient experience
