Join the Biomedical Imaging Team at New York’s #1-ranked hospital

The NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns will be a leader in providing outstanding, compassionate, personalized care to pregnant women, newborn babies and their families. Scheduled to open in August 2020, the 222,000 square foot facility will occupy the top five-and-a-half floors of the NewYork-Presbyterian David H. Koch Center and will feature: 75 private rooms and well-baby bassinets, 60 private neonatal intensive care isolettes, 16 labor and delivery rooms, five operating rooms, 20 maternal critical assessment and treatment rooms, and 15 ultrasound rooms, which will offer state-of-the-art visualization. It is set to be the first facility in New York City to have MRI capabilities and an operating room in its neonatal intensive care unit. Biomedical Imaging Specialist - Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on multiple advanced specialty equipment such as Cardiology, Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiology and Neurology. Logically troubleshoot and document imaging systems, using the most effective process. Perform repairs and calibrations on equipment, while coordinating with OEM. Maintain, repair, and modify equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications. Use manufacturer provided diagnostic or operational software to isolate and repair problems of component level whenever possible. Analyze the record of performance reports to determine problem sources and make recommendations for corrective actions.

This hours of this position are generally 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. 

Preferred Criteria

  • Special Procedures experience

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Vendor Level Certification
  • At least 6 years of experience working on the repair of medical electronic and mechanical equipment
  • At least 24 months of current technical experience (modality specific)
  • Strong technical background in one or more of the Medical Imaging disciplines
  • Ability to develop and maintain secondary modalities expertise for backup purposes 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills to effectively collaborate, build relationships and manage change
