Biomedical Clinical Engineer - Medical Laser Safety Officer

Join an interdisciplinary team in our Biomedical Engineering Department in providing clinical engineering support in the development and implementation of medical lasers. As a Biomedical Clinical Engineer, you will work on projects that ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and departmental procedures. In this role you will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair medical lasers used for clinical surgeries. You will utilize your communication skills to engage and interface with clinical staff at various levels and perform root cause analysis with clinicians.

Preferred Criteria

  • One to two years of experience as a Clinical or Biomedical Engineer / Laser Safety Officer
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing medical lasers
  • Experience with safe use of lasers in healthcare
  • Vendor Certifications in laser safety and biomedical equipment
  • Knowledge of Biomedical processes
  • Knowledge of healthcare and medical laser safety regulations
  • Knowledge in conducting incident investigation and root cause analysis

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering
  • Previous experience (6 months – 1 year) as a Clinical or Biomedical Engineer in testing and maintenance of all types of biomedical equipment
