Under the supervision of the Director of Community Affairs, NYP Westchester manage  community outreach, promote  engagement with community based organizations and lead planning of all aspects of developing programs and events.  As an essential representative of NYP Hudson Valley Hospital, this position interfaces with key community  leaders to help position the Hospital as a leading provider of healthcare in the region and promote the mission to advance the health and well-being of our communities.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Coordinates activities related to planning, scheduling and executing all events initiated by the Community Affairs Department.
  • Develop and implement programs that support community engagement with residents, including monthly health education lectures by physicians and clinicians.
  • Represent NYP at community outreach events and programs (virtual and when possible, in-person)
  • Coordinates events, in the community such as , libraries  and schools,  including  symposia and lectures with the presenter(s) and the sponsor.
  • Coordinates all on site logistics on event day, including coordinating with speakers and venue.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with outside services retained to assist in event planning, including consultants and physicians. Assists the presenter, communicates all aspects of the request and reviews the power point to ensure that the discussion reflects the request.
  • Identifies, cultivates and solicits platforms  to host a robust calendar of Hospital events.
  • Provides training and advice for solicitations to volunteer leadership events and programs.
  • Collaborates with Community Affairs team  on production of written materials for events, including invitations, sponsorship proposals and follow-up letters.     
  • Provides primary staff support for affinity groups involved in events. Assists groups in attracting volunteer support and in initiating new  opportunities.
  • Helps identify and coordinate expense sponsorships in the community.
  • Support quarterly meetings of the Hospital Community Advisory Board and Community Outreach Committee.


  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university
  • Three years progressive related experience
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Functional knowledge of related computer software applications
