The Center for Community Health, opening  January 2021 in the heart of Park Slope at our NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, will set a new bar in personalized outpatient care -- from diagnosis to treatment -- by integrating new technologies and innovative clinical approaches to provide the highest quality care and enhance the patient experience. 

This 400,000 –square foot, multi-specialty ambulatory center encompasses a Comprehensive Cancer and Women’s Health Center, 12 ambulatory surgery operating rooms and Multispecialty physician practices.

Senior Physician Assistant – PA - Ambulatory Surgery – Center for Community Health – Days

Under the direction of the Director, Department of Physician Assistant Services, the Senior Physician Assistant will provide leadership and direction to a set number of staff members.  Responsible for ensuring all standard policies and procedures are followed and credentialing guidelines are met.  Will promote a positive, nurturing and stimulating work environment for all staff.  Responsible for all performance related reviews and metrics. Other responsibilities include the recruitment and hiring of staff, training of new and existing employees, precepting students and special projects as assigned. Manage all aspects of care including pre-op and post-op responsibilities, and and be a leader in providing high quality innovative care to patients and their families. At the Center for Community Health, you’ll find a patient-focused, engaging, and supportive environment. This position will rotate/float between procedural and surgical services as well as opportunities to work in Operating Room. PA's are highly respected collaborators, working as a part of a cohesive team to ensure the care and caring of our patients and their families while being committed to our culture of Putting Patients First.

This is a full time day shift position with rotating weekends. This position is located across from NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital at our Center for Community Health. 

Preferred Criteria

  • Prior experience managing physician assistants
  • Prior experience developing staff

Required Criteria

  • A minimum of five years of prior Physician Assistant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant licensure required
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and Advanced Certified Life Support (ACLS)
