In this role, you will have an opportunity to assist Pathologists with various processes in the preparation of surgical specimens for Pathologist review. You will also participate in various research related activities including biorepository/tissue banking, You’ll process the research samples according to the research protocol. You will also register and annotate the research specimens in related biobank datasets. Additional duties include maintaining the tumor registry databank, and performing bench work in research lab as well as transporting research tissue materials to other lab. You will also assist the Pathologist in preparation of frozen section for intra-operative consultations.

This is a full time day shift position, located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Preferred Criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• One year in hospital setting
• ASCP Pathologist Assistant

Required Criteria:

• Associates Degree in any science.
• NYS Pathologist Assistant license.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in order to transmit patient data/reports clearly and concisely.
• Basic computer skills.
