In this role, under the supervision of the Radiology Manager or Radiologist, the Imaging Technologist is responsible for the preparation and execution of the following procedures: Diagnostic procedures, advanced OR Diagnostic procedures, portable Diagnostic, Cat Scan Exams, Cat Scan, Interventional Radiology, MRI, or Mammography. You’ll have an exciting opportunity to warmly greet & welcome patients/visitors/staff & assist radiologists and other physicians in performing exams when necessary. Additional duties include to assess patient condition, produce good quality radiographic images, & ensure adherence to safety standards.
This is a part time night shift position Saturday into Sunday 12:00am-8:00am, Sunday into Monday 12:00am-8:00am, Monday into Tuesday 12:00am-8:00am, Tuesday into Wednesday 12:00am-8:00am, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Preferred Criteria:
  • Associates degree
Required Criteria:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate from an accredited program in the school of Radiologic Technology
  • Must obtain at least 24 continuing education credits every 2 years as per ARRT requirements
  • If working in general Radiology department: One year experience in diagnostics radiology required. One year experience in CT, Mammography, or OR procedures preferred
  • If working in MRI or Interventional Radiology departments: One year experience in area required
  • N.Y. State Department of Health X-ray License
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification
  • ARRT Advanced modality (ie. mammography, CT, MR, or special interventional radiology) certification
  • N.Y. State Department of Health IV Certification preferred.
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to use independent judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Standing, walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing.
