Quality Clinical Labs Manager – Days

In collaboration with Laboratory leadership, ensures the ongoing strategic and operational excellence of the department. The main objective of the Quality Manager is to contribute to the improvement of patient care and collect appropriate and relevant data. Functions as an integral part and key individual for the Quality and Performance Improvement programs for the Clinical Laboratories. This includes performance and quality improvement and risk management-related activities, educational programs, reviewing occurrences involving quality of care, compliance monitoring, and participation in department/Division and Hospital committees.

Establishes implements and maintains the Quality Management System for the Clinical Laboratories. Maintains a current knowledge of all Clinical Laboratory regulatory standards and implement appropriate modifications and/or additions to the Quality Management System. Monitors and analyzes departmental data using available information systems; identify problems and help develops solution. Develop reports as needed. Reviews hospital or physician’s medical records and occurrences when evaluating cases involving quality care and performance improvement issues, patient complaint letters, compliance reviews, legal reviews, and information derived from focused studies and data analysis.

This is a full time, day shift position working Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm at Lawrence Hospital.

Preferred Criteria

  • Master’s Degree
  • Minimum of 6 years progressive clinical laboratory experience 
  • New York State Clinical Technologist License

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Diploma
  • Requires at least four years relevant clinical experience
  • Experience with regulatory aspects of practice
  • Basic knowledge of performance improvement concepts and desktop computing skills
  • Project management and facilitation skills
  • Possess effective communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
