The Program Manager functions as the point person for the Sports Performance Center Program. Works in collaboration with NYP Hospitals, NYP Medical Group practices, community practitioners and community-based organizations to assure productivity of Sports Performance Center. Responsible for managing the administrative responsibilities specific to the program including day-to-day duties and supervision of staff. Under the supervision of the Director, Practice Operations oversees all program activities.
Supervises and coordinates program development, implementation, management and evaluation with primary responsibility for daily Program operations.
Coordinates relationships between program and all community partner facilities to ensure effective collaborative input and to develop shared goals for components of programs
Ensures appropriate utilization of staff to promote quality care consistent with the goals/mission of the program and interprets, communicates and implements Center philosophy/policies to staff.
Interfaces with public and private organizations and contributors as relevant for designation as New York State Center for Best Practices.
Supervises and supports Center staff and helps troubleshoot day-to-day problems.
Facilitates communication between all aspects of the program and between the Center and all key stakeholders.
Represents Center to key stakeholders internally and also externally at professional meetings and conferences.
Primary responsibility for all communication with New York State Department of Health, including all report writing.
Responsible for all programmatic administrative issues, including: scheduling, managing of subcontracts and hiring, evaluation and training of staff.
Provides day-to-day budget oversight, reconciliation of accounts, review and analysis of reports and recommend opportunities for improvement.
Works with Leadership and community partners to define specific Program goals and develop strategies to achieve these goals.
Builds, fosters and manages relationships with community organizations, institutional partners and key stakeholders.
Ensures that all patients, visitors, guests, as well as co-workers receive personalized, prompt attention and are treated with hospitality, dignity and respect no matter how limited the contact.
Effective in maintaining and ensuring the quality and appropriateness of services provided.
Facilitates the growth of the program by seeking to identify and integrate new components to program as appropriate.
Oversees the production of educational and promotional materials.
Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to hospital policies and procedures.
Performs other special projects and duties as assigned..
Bachelor’s degree with focus on business, sports management, marketing, organizational leadership or other related field-Required
Master’s degree in health care management, business administration or equivalent-Preferred
A minimum of 2 years sales and/or account management experience with orthopedic and or sports performance and/or health and wellness environment
A proven track record of building business partnerships and developing key client relationships
to maximize account profitability
Three to five years managing experience
Experience in program development implementation and evaluation
Experience working in a community setting
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational and analytical skills and a high degree of flexibility
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Spanish
