Program Director Nursing Excellence /Magnet Lawrence Hospital
Serves as the overall project leader for the planning, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing compliance with the American Nurse Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet® Recognition Program at the campus level. Collaborates with the Offices of the Center for Professional Nursing Practice.. Assures appropriate analysis and development of actions plans toward achieving and sustaining an environment of nursing excellence. Serves as a liaison between clinical nurse, nursing leadership, interprofessional colleagues, and the community. Assists with nursing and interprofessional education and communication regarding comprehensive nursing excellence program. Contributes to strategic initiatives through timely data management, analysis, and graph display for driving actionable nursing and organizational outcomes.
Develops and ensures campus infrastructure and processes for ongoing nursing excellence and Magnet designation.
Completes campus specific Demographic Data Collection Tool (DDCT) and interim monitoring report per ANCC’s expectations.
Coaches and mentors nurses at all levels of the campus in their understanding and practical application of Magnet standards. Provides leadership for compliance with Magnet standards.
Develops and maintains an electronic knowledge-sharing database/repository of excellence exemplars. Conducts gap analysis based upon the strategic plan; reports findings, and communicates needs to assigned groups.
Contributes to an environment of motivation, innovation, and commitment to Magnet designation through education, communication, and celebration.
Builds, fosters and manages relationships with community organizations, institutional partners and key stakeholders. Represents Center to key stakeholders internally and also externally at professional meetings and conferences.
Identifies Magnet program-related barriers.
Coordinates identification, collection, categorization, and tracking of evidence for the sources of evidence (SOE). Coordinate preparation, editing, and publication of the Magnet document. Oversees campus preparation for the ANCC site visit.
Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulation and engages in continuous learning.
Other assignments as directed to support the Center for Professional Nursing Practice and the Chief Nursing Officer.
Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
New York State Licensure
Experience completing Magnet application for Initial Designation
Knowledge of the DDCT
DNP or PhD
Experience with an initial and redesignation application
