International Financial Counselor - Global Services (Monday -Thursday are in office and Friday's are remote)

The basic function of the International Financial Counselor is to register, receive, monitor, collect, and consolidate hospital and professional services fees for all international patient accounts. 

The mission of the Hospital and the International Services Division are supported by this position by providing patients with high quality service, while protecting the institution and the physicians’ financial viability’s.  Timely data collection, authorization, appropriate placement, and successful account resolutions all contribute to a cost effective delivery system.

Preferred Criteria

• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Two years in hospital admitting/patient registration with accounts receivable and in-house collection experience is preferred.
• Fluency (written and spoken) in Arabic is highly preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish is also ideal. 
• Experience with Eagle and IDX is preferred. 

Required Criteria

• Ability to diplomatically interact with and maintain close liaison with a variety of people including patients, third party payers, physicians offices and all levels of NYPH management, particularly within Patient and Financial Services Divisions required.
• Must possess sufficient analytical skills to independently prepare financial evaluations and pre-admission deposit estimates.
• Must be capable of determining and negotiating appropriate payment arrangements.
• Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel in a professional setting is required.
• Experience in public relations and/or working in international environment required.
• Understanding of Hospital protocols, policies and procedures required.
