Patient Care Director – RN – Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)

It’s the kind of career that challenges you to be at your best today, while inspiring you to become even better tomorrow.  The BMT program at NYP/CUMC offers the whole array of treatment options ranging from autologous to haploidentical transplants and provides innovative care ranging from gene therapy protocols for sickle cell disease to modern cellular therapy for hematologic malignancies and combined bone marrow – solid organ transplants. As PCD you will be an integral member of the BMT program executive team and work closely with the BMT director in ascertaining the continued growth and success of the BMT unit.

Take on this highly visible role in this 5-star unit, responsible for the overall management of our 18-bed Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, which is continuing to grow and expand in services. Train, oversee and evaluate members of tight-knit, multidisciplinary teams, including RNs who are committed to continuous professional advancement and higher education. Develop and monitor budgets, increasing revenues and reducing expenses. Creatively assess unit performance/productivity, and lead initiatives focused on maintaining care quality and patient satisfaction, while building staff engagement and driving our services to become the best in the nation.  


Preferred Criteria

  • Leadership experience and a background in Bone Marrow Transplant


Required Criteria

  • Master’s degree in a health related field (or the ability to obtain one within one year of employment)
  • At least 3 years of relevant clinical experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are also needed to build effective teams, align work activities and develop meaningful relationships with staff
