We are looking for a qualified HR Business Partner to provide partnership and support to leadership and staff in various areas. Assist in developing and executing strategies to create and ensure a positive work environment and a highly engaged workforce. Our ideal candidate should have solid experience with HR practices, employee management as well as labor relations/collective bargaining experience in a health-care setting. You will communicate with staff at all levels to express new ideas and suggest solutions, considering budget limitations and our company culture. Ideally, you should be able to act as consultant on human resources management and help enhance organizational processes and procedures. 
Essential Responsibilities: 
  • Provides advice and counsel to leaders and staff in various areas in order to ensure an effective and engaged workforce.
  • Administers comprehensive and effective HR Programs that are consistent with the philosophies and values of GSH. Facilities conclusions/resolutions to issues that relate to employee relations (e.g. acting as mediator, facilitating dispute resolutions, etc.). 
  • Effectively partners with GSH leadership, NYP/Medical Group leadership and HR Centers of Excellence as they implement initiatives relating to performance management, change management and employee engagement and other strategies. 
  • Ensures that policies are applied fairly and are consistent with the organization's overall goals and objectives. 
  • Provide HR policy guidance to leaders and staff across the organization, work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention. 
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues endemic to a union/non-union (1199 & NYSNA) environment.
  • Implements and interprets Human Resources policies and procedures and presents opportunities for improvement, revision and approval. 
  • Conducts workforce data analysis and identifies key trends and opportunities for improvement across GSH, oversee select projects and manage time-lines associated with GSH initiatives. 
  • Collaboratively identifies, develops and recommends specific department goals and objectives for consideration as they relate to ensuring excellent employee relationships. 
  • Conducts regular follow-ups with clients to ensure the effectiveness of processes/procedures and activities. 
  • Participates in various hospital committees and tasks as assigned, maintains current knowledge of field. 
  • Collaborates with all HR partners across GSH, NYP, union representatives as well as representatives from system human resources teams and leaders to continuously assess HR efficiency. Implement change and improvement where needed. 
Required Experience: 
  • Previous experience in Human Resources Management in a health-care setting
  • 5-7+ years of experience in employee/labor relations or other HR related specialty
  • Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law 
  • Project management experience
  • Strong time management and priorities management skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and writing skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Management of HRIS systems implementation
-BA/BS degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience (Master's preferred) 
-PHR, SPHR a plus
