Under the direction of the Director of Development Communications and the Senior Communications Specialist, the Communications Associate will perform writing, editing, and project management duties.


Essential Job Duties

  • Draft save the dates, invitations, programs, and speaking points for other event collateral for development events in support of all 10 of NYP’s existing campuses.
  • Draft speaking points for C-and SVP-level NYP staff for development events in support of six main NYP campuses.
  • Create fundraising and stewardship brochures and reports.
  • Work with designers and printers on production of event collateral, brochures, newsletters, and proposals.
  • Meet with senior leaders, Planning, Facilities, TeleHealth, Population Health, departmental staff, and others to understand funding needs, budgets, and project specifications.
  • Interview donors, physicians, others for newsletter articles and future stories.
  • Perform editing, proofing, and fact checking services for all Development Office staff members to ensure accuracy, quality of output, and consistency of style.
  • Manage organization and submission of Development Communications invoices.
  • Identifies vendors and solicits bids.

Preferred Criteria

  • Experience in journalism, public affairs, or healthcare-related setting

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to write and edit creatively, quickly and concisely
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines and work efficiently
