Senior Interior Designer

the Senior Interior Designer (SID) will join a team of design professionals who are dedicated to the enhancement of NYP Facilities interior design as a world class academic medical center. The team mission is to promote interiors conducive to healing and science through the application of a consistent vocabulary of timeless and sophisticated materials, finishes and design aesthetics which evoke a sense of well-being for our patients, families, and staff. Responsible for leading interior designers to communicate and coordinate departmental decisions coordinated with SPM. Senior Interior Designer will mentor junior interior designer and interior designer with NYP interior department process and procedure. Responsible to assist Senior Project Manager for decision making on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies for NYP interior scope for implementation to NYP standard. In collaboration with SPM review interior department’s project process, procedures, and execution. The SID will participate in projects that run the gamut of healthcare facilities ranging from new building to small renovations, from the complication of operating rooms to nuances of child life playrooms or simple furniture selections. Projects will also include the NYP corporate center and other leased spaces across the enterprise, which may be non-healthcare projects. The SID will also be responsible for contributing to Capital and FACE Projects, as well as be responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to the broader NYP Interior Guidelines.

This is a full time day position overseeing Interior Design projects throughout the NYP Enterprise. This position will be primarily located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design
  • Six (6) to eight (8) years of previous work-related experience
  • Proven ability to demonstrate an intermediate designer’s knowledge of interior finish materials, material specifications, and construction detailing
  • Experience in interior design and implementation of interior finishes and layouts
  • Submission and review of a design portfolio review and shop drawings
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate interior department’s process & procedures including project processes for Client Requested, FACE and Capital Projects.

Salary Range:

$120,000-$150,000/Annual
