What if the opportunity I’m looking for is not available?
There may not be current openings for the job you are interested in. However, the careers website is updated frequently. It's the most up-to-date source for job openings. Connect with NYP. When you connect with us you'll have the opportunity to create a profile, select your area(s) of interest and will receive relevant updates on jobs, events, NYP news and more. If you want, you can even upload a resume and have it ready for when new opportunities post.
I’d like to personalize my cover letter to the appropriate individual. How can I find out his or her name?
It's not necessary to address a cover letter to a specific individual. Various recruiters and hiring managers may be working with your application to find the best fit for you.
How do I upload a cover letter to my application?
NYP only requires cover letters for certain positions. If a cover letter is required for the position you are applying to, you'll have the opportunity to copy and paste your cover letter during the application process. Should you desire to submit a cover letter to a position that does not require one, you can submit a cover letter by including it with your resume as one document during the application process.
How should I answer the questions at the end of the application?
Please consider the questions to be part of the application and answer them accurately and as they apply to you. The Hospital values exceptional quality and will not consider applicants who do not answer the application questions accurately.
How do I know I submitted an application successfully?
We now give an immediate response once a successful application is submitted. If you missed this message, you are able to log into your account and review your previous applications under the "Your NYP Application History" section to review the status of your application.
Can I apply to more than one job opportunity at a time?
Yes, if you are interested in several different job openings. However, it is not necessary to apply to all open positions in a specific field. For example, if you are applying for a staff nurse position, you are not required to apply to every specialty (just to the ones you are interested in).
What is the best internet browser to complete the NYP online application?
NYP's Careers page supports most internet browsers. Supported browsers include: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 7 or 8+, Safari, and Opera.

I applied online and have not received feedback. What's the status?
If you have not heard back from NYP, be sure to check all your email folders. You may also check the status of your application at any time by logging in to your account and reviewing the "Your NYP Application History" section which is updated daily. If your application was successfully submitted and qualified for further review, as stated in the "Your NYP Application History" status section, and you have not received a response after several business days, please check that your contact information in your profile is listed and up to date. You may update your contact information by clicking "Update your profile" under the General Options of your NYP Dashboard.
How will I be notified if I’m not considered for a position?
You may be notified by email if you are not being considered for a position. You may also check the status of your application at any time by logging in to your account and reviewing the "Your NYP Application History" section, which is updated daily.
What should I bring to my interview?
All candidates should bring an updated copy of their resume/CV and any other information that would assist the recruiter in evaluating competencies for the position of interest.
Is there a hospital dress code?
The hospital is judged in large part by the people who work for it. For this reason, it's important that employees maintain a neat appearance and proper hygiene. For positions that do not require uniforms, employees are expected to wear proper-fitting clothing that will bring credit to the hospital.
